Digital transformation is essential for companies to stay competitive.
It’s a top priority for many enterprise CIOs and IT leaders looking at ways to use cloud technologies while grappling with the need to maintain traditional hardware and software inside their own data centers for data security. This need led to the birth of hybrid cloud, a mix of public and private clouds working in harmony to deliver cloud-native experiences over which enterprises have full control.
The move to the hybrid cloud, driven by cost and agility, is currently going at a rapid pace. A recent IBM study of 500 hybrid cloud decision makers revealed that seven in 10 enterprises will continue to have a blend of traditional IT and cloud, while nine out of 10 frontrunners reported that hybrid cloud gives them greater ROI than going all-cloud or all-traditional environment.
IBM Cloud Private is designed to help organizations thrive in the multicloud era.
Five9 taps into IBM Cloud Private for customers in Vietnam
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Hanoi, Five9 Vietnam Corp. provides communications and software services, facilitating more than 3 billion customer interactions annually.
Five9 was already using IBM Watson APIs to deliver tailored industry ready AI experiences. To take a leap forward and gain the competitive edge in the Asia-Pacific market, specifically in Vietnam, the company found its match in IBM Cloud Private to optimize and modernize its existing application infrastructure.
The solution was a single, scalable and secure platform that sat behind the company firewall and was built on top of Cloud Private to deploy industry-specific, cloud native and web-based applications, APIs and microservices. With IBM Cloud Private, Five9 was able to develop on-premises, containerized applications and manage them using built-in Kubernetes orchestration technology in addition to private image repositories, management console and monitoring frameworks for containers.
Five9 also built out a centralized dashboard to deploy, manage, monitor and scale its applications on Cloud Private, which helps it cut costs and reduce human error. It is now looking to use IBM Cloud Private to extend its big data software offerings for clients. Five9 is also actively invested in building new skills on the cloud platform so that it can be the first of its competitors to help its customers down the cloud-adoption journey.
By deploying the IBM Cloud Private solution as an on-premises cloud platform, Five9 can add a greater degree of flexibility to its client needs through enterprise-grade machine learning, AI and cognitive capabilities to support agile decision making for its enterprise customers who need to rapidly gain insights from data, 80 percent of which is not accessible through plain search. Further, Five9 can optimize its application infrastructure by moving existing siloed Java applications, unchanged, to the private enterprise cloud platform.
“Five9 is the first in Vietnam to early adopt IBM Cloud using IBM Bluemix and IBM Cloud Private to effectively and quickly enhance our business strategies,” said Nguyen Trong Huan, chairman and CEO of Five9 Vietnam Corporation. “Five9 leverages API and Watson Cognitive AI capabilities on this flexible hybrid-cloud platform to position our business value and deliver the differentiated and outstanding services to our clients in healthcare, telecom and financial industries.”
