New Global Bluemix UI for Higher Availability and More

We’re pleased to announce that starting immediately all public regions of the Bluemix platform can be managed from a single location via the new global Bluemix UI found at http://bit.ly/2qcuTmF. You will get several benefits from the new approach:

  • Simplified management of your resources — Instead of having a separate address for each region, you now just have to remember one location no matter if your resources are located in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, or Australia.
  • Streamlined user experience — Choosing a different region in the selector on the top right of the page no longer redirects you to a regional-specific location. It now simply refreshes your list of resources to match the new region.

  • Improved performance — Traffic to the global location is geographically load balanced. This means your data will be served from the regional data center closest to your geographic location to reduce latency.
  • Much higher availability — When a region is not healthy, traffic will automatically failover to the next closest region. So, you will still be able to access the UI even in the unlikely event that one or more Bluemix regions fail.

We’re excited by these improvements, and we think you will be too! For now, the regional addresses will continue to
function. But, over the course of the next few weeks, we will be retiring them by adding permanent redirects to the global address. So, we recommend that you start using the new global Bluemix UI now by going to http://bit.ly/2qcuTmF.
